EXITING NEWS JUNE 2021!

Dear friends, partners, family, and loved ones,

Thank you so much for yet another fruitful month. We greatly appreciate your partnering with us in reaching out to and assisting the needy. Through our united efforts we provided for a minimum of 2000 hot meals being served weekly (over 8000 hot meals this month), and other needs (which you will see on the following pages), were provided as well.
We are also happy to have been able to meet weekly with fellow believers this whole past month before the level 4 lock-down got implemented. We are praying for the protection and well-being of everyone and that the virus will soon be a thing of the past.

GRACELIFE Sir Lowry's Pass

Above: Dream team meeting. Every Sunday willing volunteers come early to help prepare and set up for the service. We always start out the time with prayer and testimonies as well as some words of encouragement. And if anyone needs prayer for health, etc. we will pray together before carrying on the day.

Philip teaching on the Holy Spirit and demonstrating the importance and ministering out of the overflow.

At our last service we had several people stand up and testifying of the Lord supernaturally healing them of things such as backaches, tooth and gums ache, and one lady, as we were meeting in the morning with the dream team had her right ear, which had been closed for years, suddenly pop open! Praise God

Here is our hospitality team always ready and eager to serve. Notice the special ginger cookies treat. The children all to their great delight got a larger decorated ginger man or lady. We thank our donors!

We recently started a new exciting curriculum for the children. It takes them through the whole Bible while helping them to recognize the presence of Jesus and learn the message of grace from the very start. The course is also interspersed with many fun games and activities helping to keep them focused.

JOYCE'S SOUP KITCHEN - SIR LOWRY'S PASS:

Joyce’s Soup Kitchen in Sir Lowry’s Pass is also hosting the HIV/AID support group project that we provide hot meals for twice weekly. Seen here are some of the supplies for the project brought recently.

Approximately 300 hot meals are being provided weekly from this project!

ANGELS' KITCHEN - SIR LOWRY'S PASS:

Seen here are some of the supplies donated to the Angels’ Kitchen in Sir Lowry’s Pass which serves the children primarily. They serve porridge in the morning for + 20 children and hot meals in the afternoon for approximately 40-50 children.

This month we donated a 50-liter pot to the Angels’ Kitchen this month.

As seems to be an unspoken rule to not give an empty wallet, so we likewise thought it better to not give an empty pot. So we filled it with a few chicken soup packs as well as chicken chunks.

Little ones patiently queuing outside the Angels’ Kitchen to be able to go to bed well-fed before bedtime.

BRIGHT STARS KITCHEN - NOMZAMO:

Seen on this page are some of the supplies donated to the Bright Star kitchen located in Nomzamo. This kitchen serves + 300 people a day. Again their supplies have been cut off for now, except for “ours”.

Seen here are some people who helped us unload a full bakkie of pizza bases, bread, etc. They were each rewarded with some food for themselves and their families for which they were very grateful.

As already mentioned this kitchen serves + 300 people a day and have requested two more 50-liter pots in order to have enough food for everyone. If you would like to assist in some way please let us know.

MILA'S ANGELS' KITCHEN - SIR LOWRY'S PASS:

We regularly support this kitchen with pizza bases and bread. It is mainly geared for the children, but not only. From time to time we assist with other items as well—according to the need and our ability.

PIZZABASES, BREAD, CEREAL, ETC:

We would like to once again acknowledge GB Lions for their weekly contribution to our feeding schemes of at least one bakkie full and often two or more, of fresh pizza bases, bread, croutons, cereal, etc.

Seen here are some of the pizza bases being distributed in Nomzamo. We have been told that every time word spreads that there are pizza bases, etc. the queue gets longer as people greatly enjoy those.

LIGHTHOUSE KITCHEN- SIR LOWRY'S PASS: This kitchen is for the children. We assist here however we can. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Here we are delivering some pizza bases and bread where we also have a Food Bank set up in Sir Lowry's Pass.

EXTRA SUPPLIES:

We want to thank our personal friends who generously donated a couch and two armchairs to a needy family in Sir Lowry’s Pass. They had little to no furniture prior to receiving this.

We also donated a printer/scanner for the Lighthouse Soup Kitchen!

A BIG THANK YOU goes to the Lions’ Club and the many precious ladies who made the effort and put in the time to knit lots of warm and beautiful beanies. Please note the children in the queue all wearing their brand new beanies helping to keep them warm and dry. THANK YOU SO MUCH ON BEHALF OF THE CHILDREN!

Here 100 litres of milk is being loaded unto the bakkie for distribution in Sir Lowry’s Pass and Nomzamo.

A BIG THANK YOU to Wollies for having supported Joyce’s Soup Kitchen twice weekly for many years now. It provides invaluable help to many.

Here we are donating a gas stove to a lady in Sir Lowry’s Pass, who plans to start a soup kitchen for approximately 40-50 neighborhood children.

LIFEGROUPS:

We are still leading 3 different Bible studies a week. With the present stricter lock-down we will not be able to meet in person, but will be seeking to keep the ministering of the Word going some other way!

 LEADERSHIP GATHERING:

The photo above: We attended (thankfully just in time before the level 4 restrictions) a very liberating two days leadership gathering with our Gracelife family.

PENDING NEEDS:

Pots: We have received a request for two more pots the same size as the one with the rice (40-50 liters each). This kitchen, located in Nomzamo, serves + 300 people a day and sometimes runs out of food as their pots are too small. If you are able to help, please contact us. Thank you!

The photos above: We have been requested to help with boards for the inner walls of this house to provide better insulation. K., who lives here, has a chronic cough. The house is very difficult to warm up as it is made with slaps and has no insulation. Besides the insulation for the outer walls, two inner separation walls have also been requested to provide two private bedrooms and a sitting room. And (as seen there to the left) is a hole in the roof as well.

This house was flooded due to the rain coming in under the walls. Others contacted us as water is coming in from the roof.

We presently regularly support 3 kitchens that combined serve + 2000 meals a week (more than 8000 hot meals a month). Other supporters have fallen away (due to financial restraints), and so it has fallen on us to be the sole providers. (Thank you for partnering with us in this). Besides supporting these three kitchens, we also support another three as much as possible. We would like to ask you to please pray for the funding to be granted again for those that initially assisted. Meanwhile, please pray that we will be able to carry on, and if you are reading this and are not already part of the work but would like to be, please do not hesitate to contact us. We/they need you! Thank you so much!
