August News Letter.

Dear Ones,

Thank you so much for standing by us in building a beautiful work in the hearts of the people of Sir Lowry’s Pass. We appreciate your partnership, you are each an essential part of the work. One of our greatest accomplishments was that we on the 1st of September had our first church services in Sir Lowry's Pass. We had several meetings leading up to this. We are very excited about this as it will enable us to accommodate a lot more people as we will no longer be needing to fit everyone into the allotted transportation. Our main aim in opening a church in Sir Lowry's Pass is to reach the un-reached, not to encourage those who already attend a church to come to us, although they would be welcome should they so desire! But more about that next time as it technically belongs to our September news! Stay tuned for some exciting developments!
We very much appreciate you continued help and support and are fully convinced that the Lord will bless your partnering with our ministry. Thank you!

WOMEN'S DAY 9th of August 2019:

We had an inspiring event for the beautiful women of Sir Lowry's Pass. Our guest speaker, Hayley, shared some of her personal testimonies, which including her struggles as a single mother, as well some of the tough choices she had to make, and how she till this day is so very grateful for staying true to what she knew in her heart to be right.

We also had some good laughs as numbers were drawn from a hat and prices were distributed.

A group of young people from the village sang some beautiful songs a Capella.

We had eight table hosts who each decorated their table and provided cakes, etc for the table they hosted. They in turn were rewarded for their labors of love with a small surprise  treat at the end of the event.

 HOUSING PROJECT:

We are happy to this month be able to report that a brand new roof was laid on the house we mentioned last month. The family living there is now able to rest well at night knowing that no water will come in!

Here the new roofing sheets are being delivered.

And the roof is being laid.

The new roofing sheets came already galvanized and isolation was added.

We also helped provide the family of 6 with some much needed cupboards (above and below).

And through a good friend the Lord also supplied some vinyl flooring. We still hope to eventually cement all the dirt floors in the house.

One of the young men immediately sought to build his own space outside with the discarded roofing materials. It unfortunately had to be moved as it was blocking the yard and we hope it will be improved upon in the process.

SUPPLIES:

In the family we are helping with the housing we learned that two of the sisters were sharing one pair of shoes alternating days on which to wear them. So we bought them a pair each along with two pairs of sock each.

When our dear friend who also assisted with the floor vinyl heard of it she immediately offered to buy more shoes for more children in the village. We received 6 pairs and Emily and some of our leaders there helped ensured that these shoes went to the most needy.

MILK:
Each month we distribute approx. 100 liters of milk to ECD (Early Development Centers) in Sir Lowry’s Pass and Nomzamo. (Not all is shown here!)

BIBLE SCHOOL AND STUDY GROUPS:
Our Bible School students are making steady progress and are presently studying about Life Foundations by Carrie and Mike Pickett. Most of our Rooted students have now completed the course, and we are having the new ones pause the Rooted program so they can sit in on with the Bible School students and not miss out on this very essential teaching before carrying on with the basics.

We are very thankful to Gracelife church for the new orange blankets. A big blessing for this winter and the one to come!

Our small deep freezer broke, but we are happy to say that we never have to see food go to waste as there are always plenty of people to share with. We had frozen meat, bread, etc. which we distributed here.

We had several Church Planting meetings with some of the people from Sir Lowry’s Pass. Here they are busy signing up as volunteers ready to do whatever may be needed. We are so thankful for each and everyone!

Here we are meeting with our core team in Sir Lowry’s Pass. They each add a lot of strength and insight!

In the photos here (top and bottom) is seen our Thursday night study group that mainly goes through Andrew Wommack’s study guides. We are presently studying, “Staying Full of God.”

GRACELIFE"

We were happy to see that many of the people from Sir Lowry’s Pass stepped forward for prayer and further ministry in the church. They are growing in faith and trust, feeling safe and realizing that we are family and here to help each other.

BUSINESS LEADERS CONFERENCE (GRACELIFE):

Emily, Philip and I attended a “Beyond Business” seminar led by Pieter Weenik. It was very refreshing and enlightening. Guest speaker was Tafara Butayi, author of “Grace in the Marketplace”!

LEADERSHIP CAMP (GRACELIFE):

We also enjoyed a weekend Leadership camp at Rockland’s hosted by Gracelife. We received a lot of input and and were also being ministered to through a fresh word of prophecy. In between times we had some amazing nature walks and one evening we played a fun game called 30 Seconds! We all had lots of fun and enjoyed the time away!

Some of us somehow missed being in the big group shot, but it’s never too late to do the right thing! Haha!

TESTIMONIES:
One morning while praying the Lord laid a dear friend of our on my heart. I felt led to also write her and express my love and appreciation. She wrote back telling me that for the past week she had not been able to walk properly due to some severe pain in her knee. We arranged to meet and so we prayed for knee to be restored whole. The following three days she wrote back telling us how happy and thankful she was to no longer be in pain and that she was no once again able to enjoying walking her dog on the beach, etc. But she also shared her testimony of how the Lord healed her with her neighbor. This led to her neighbor wanting to meet us and we were then able to minister to the neighbor as well who  renewed her relationship with the Lord and was born again. This neighbor said that that some afternoon she had also prayed with her teenage daughter. One small step led to so many more. Praise the Lord.

One of our Bible students contacted us letting us know that her 6 months old baby had been diagnosed with pneumonia and that was not doing well at all. Philip offered to go pray for the baby that afternoon and in the evening they sent us a short video clip of the baby cooing and laughing having perked up and obviously being a lot better.

A. was suffering from severe back pains and was hardly able to move or sleep at night. Again Philip visited and prayed for him, and he later sent a text message letting us know that he felt so much better as the pain was gone and that he had again been able to sleep well. Thank the Lord for His healing power.

S. Had a couple of teeth pulled and was also feeling very light headed as her blood pressure was too high. We prayed for her and she instantly felt better.

Two of our Bible students were ministering to an elderly lady who usually attends our church. She was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, but they prayed for her and ministered to her several times encouraging her believe and trust Jesus for her healing. The next time she went for her check-up at the doctor she was told that they could not find any trace of cancer! Wow! Praise the Lord! Cancer or headache, it’s all the same to Him. He is the healer of ALL sicknesses and ALL diseases!

We also prayed for E. as she had a sore shoulder. After the prayer she seemed better and we counted it done. But again while praying one morning the Lord laid E. and her shoulder on my heart again. When I contacted her about it it turned out that she was 50% better, not 100%. So we met and prayed for her again and this time she was totally set free of the pain. Thank the Lord for His faithfulness to lead and guide us.

P. Suffered fronm some severe stomach cramps. It was even sore too sore for him for someone to lay their hand on his stomach. Nevertheless he was prayed for by a couple of people and the following day he was back to normal, restored whole again. All within a day! We are so very thankful for all that the Lord does and for who He is and who He has made us to be in Him.

1 John 4: 17 for as he is in this world so are we in this world.

John 14:12  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do because I go unto my Father!

Mark 16:18 (b) ...they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.

As a church we are moving more and more into the demonstration of the spirit and of power with which Paul preached the gospel 1Cor. 2:4 and in which the early disciples served the Lord!

We want to thank each and everyone of you for being part of advancing the Kingdom of God!
