Dear Ones, We are happy to share the accomplishments of what we together achieved in the month that passed. Without such a wonderful team and your back-up this could not have happened.

We also want to share the happy news that we will be leaving for the States Sunday night. Our flight out is from Copenhagen at 6am Monday morning. We will be spending the holiday season with our daughters and extended family. WE are looking forward to it very much! During this time we will be reachable as always, should need be.

BIBLE STUDIES:

This month we concluded our study of Ephesians 1:1-14. We also had a foot-washing session where everyone had their feet washed. It was a beautify, humbling and heart-warming event illustrating how we are here to serve one another!

FELLOWSHIP:

We were very happy to unexpectedly reconnect with some sweet friends we didn’t seen for awhile. One used to attend our Bible studies, but due to changes in her schedule she was no longer able to do so. The other friend has been traveling with her husband and daughters for an extended period of time and we were happy to meet again.

OUTREACH:

We are so thankful that we are still able to freely share the gospel with others. Here we are on the streets distributing some of our gospel tracts.

When on the streets we are met with many different reactions. Many ask, “What is this?” which often gives us the opportunity to engage in conversation with them and  give them a deeper witness. Others ask directly, “Does it have something to do with the Bible?” and when we confirm that it does they often don’t want it. However the gentleman in the photo below, after getting a gist of what it was about said, “That’s exactly what I believe!” and then carefully folded the tract and stuck it in him pocket.

TRACTS, TRANSLATIONS, AND PRINTING:

Here we are translating...

Comparing Bible versions...

And printing!

FOOD DISTRIBUTION:

The number of families collecting food from the Food Distribution Centro has been steadily increasing. With winter coming the demands seems to increase. On the last day that we were able to help before leaving to visit with our daughters and their families in the States, we were presented with a generous gift card each in appreciation of our services during the year that passed!. Praise the Lord for His goodness!

On  our last day it was also the 5 year birthday of the food distribution center being in the present location.

Because of that, everyone that came to collect food was given a piece of cake and a bottle of water in celebration.

We forgot to take a photo until after the head was cut, for which we apologize.

This kind of cake is a typically Danish cake used for times of celebration. It is a cake bottom with a sugary top with marzipan and sweets strewn on top.

The Danish name is “Brunsvigerkage”. But when running it through Google translate there was no word found for it.

It was a surprise and brought forth many smiles!

ELECTIONS:

Every 4th year there is communal and regional elections in Denmark, and this year it took place. A lot of effort was put into encouraging the local community that we live in, which mainly consists Arab immigrants, to vote.

A panel of candidates were invited to represent their cause and what they would personally fight for. Sadly the representatives were basically all from the same spectrum of the political scene. On the road we also noticed posters  from the opposite political spectrum having been pulled down and cast on the side. We are realizing more and more the need to stay informed and to be responsible to cast our vote.

CAFE RESPECT:

This month we had part 2 of the course we started last month. We each chose a key-word what was on our hearts, and it was accompanied by art-work with our key word on it. We prepared templates to be used for carving out our word and illustration in linoleum. Because we were many attendees and some of them new, we were divided into two groups. One group worked on their art work while the other went into a side room for group discussion. It was mainly everyone sharing why they chose the word they did. When my turn came I was able to share that I chose the word “love” because God is love, and that without His love we cannot be made whole!. This is a new concept for most Muslims and  the leader of the project emphasized and repeated what I had said. So I was able to indirectly witness to many. Praise the Lord!  — At the end everyone was served a portion of the typical Danish Christmas dessert consisting of cold rice pudding with a cherry sauce on top!

In “Bykirken” the church we are presently attending, we had our first communion this month. There was also a fundraiser for missions. The children had made different Christmas decoration, I’e. painting on a piece of wood, or making a decoration on a piece of wood using clay to hold a candle, twigs from pine trees, red berries, etc.

On another occasion we had a child dedication. All the children were invited to come and sit up front while the little one was being prayed for and dedicated to the Lord! It was also brought out how we are all family and therefor all have a part to play in raising the child.

After the child dedication we also had a time of honoring two people (seated on the stage) that have served the church for the past 25 years. Two tables were set up and everyone had been informed about the opportunity to bring a gift, should they so desire. And naturally the church itself also brought a gift for each one.

We have a little boy who likes to play alongside his daddy every Sunday for worship. This time the little girl in the front bravely helped lead one of the worship songs.

At the end of each service there is a time of fellowship, and usually the opportunity to buy a slice of pizza, or the like. For the celebration free cake & snacks were  served!

FEEDING WORD:

CHRISTMAS IS COMING!

We are fast approaching one of the most important Christian celebrations of the year—Christmas.

As Christians, we often regret that the true meaning of Christmas seems to be swallowed up by commercialism, fellowship with friends and loved ones, and time off to do whatever we decide, while little—if any—time is spent reflecting on the true meaning of Christmas and celebrating the most amazing gift of all: the gift of eternal life.

However, there is another consideration. Living in parts of the world where Christmas is celebrated—even if commercialized—everyone will, at least briefly, think about why Christmas is observed. In many places, Christmas music is played, some of it carrying a beautiful message. And although most so‑called Christmas movies have little to do with Jesus, they generally focus on love and reconciliation, which is exactly what Jesus desires for us.

In today’s world, wrought with wars and unrest, where the enemy is not as easily distinguishable as on an old‑fashioned battlefield, it can be very difficult to wage warfare skilfully.

Yet Jesus said of Himself: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6). What did He mean by this? Let’s look at it step by step.

“I am the way!”

What does this mean? Jesus showed us how to live a fruitful life, how to access the power of God in our lives, and how to rise above the circumstances that come against us. This is not something we can do on our own. It requires a relationship with Him, where we learn His ways and put aside our own.

His way requires:

•  Living by faith, faith which comes by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17). This, in turn, requires that we spend time in the Word.

•  Releasing faith, which is done by speaking the Word (2 Corinthians 4:13) and by obeying the Word (John 7:17).

“And the truth.”

In other words, our Christian life cannot consist merely of an occasional visit to church. To live a successful Christian life, we must give it our all and make it a lifestyle. When we do this, then we will know whether the doctrine is of God or of man (John 7:17). A life lived in faith and obedience produces results, and we will see that His Word is indeed truth (John 17:17).

“And the life.”

Outside of Christ, there is no life. There is existence, but not true life. The Spirit of God is what brings life (Genesis 2:7). When Adam and Eve sinned, they died spiritually—the Spirit of God departed from them, and they were separated from Him. They did not cease to exist, but they lost fellowship with God.

There is a Heaven and there is a Hell. Jesus spoke about both. To live a life of love, joy, peace, and abundance forever, we must be born again (John 3:3–8). Romans 10:9–10 says that if we believe in our heart and confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, and that God raised Him from the dead, we shall be saved.

Then we shall receive the most truly amazing Christmas gift of all—the gift of eternal life: eternal fellowship with God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. And we shall not see hell.

A Prayer to Receive This Gift

If you have not yet received this wonderful gift, simply pray:

Dear Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of God and that You rose from the dead. I thank You that You died for my sins and took my punishment upon Yourself. I now receive You as my Lord and Saviour. Please fill me with the Holy Spirit and help me to know Your ways, Your truth, and the true meaning of life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

REVIVAL AND AWAKENING:

We would like to ask you to join us in praying for the Lord to bring revival to Denmark, but not onark 16:15)

LEADERSHIP:

For the Lord to raise up godly leadership and influencers in the European parliament and all the European countries. For our nations not to forget God and to turn to Him in this our hour of need. And for wisdom and guidance for the powers that be.

PEACE:

We pray that our country, and Europe, will not find ourselves at war, and that all the invasive drone activities will stop. And for peace in the Middle East and Ukraine. And against persecution of Christians around the world.

BYKIRKEN:

We have now started attending Bykirken. We are happy with the services. This church is in the process of receiving a new pastor, as the present one is being promotion and will be moving to Copenhagen. Please pray for the transition to go smoothly. Thank you!

A VEHICLE:

For us to be more effective in our ministry we need a vehicle. Please join us in prayer for the vehicle the Lord has for us to manifest soon. Thank you so much!

LANGUAGE STUDY:

Philip is working hard to meet the requirements for his stay here, one being that he gets a good grasp of the Danish language. Please pray for a supernatural understanding and comprehension of all the Danish grammar, and for an increased vocabulary.

Meanwhile I am trying to learn Arabic through various free online courses. The area we live in predominantly consists of Arabs that speak little or no Danish.

OUR UPCOMING TRIP:

We are claiming Proverbs 10:22, “The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.” We are claiming a safe journey with no delays, cancellation, or unwelcome events of any kind. Thank you!
